JUNE 22 - WESTLAKE: Brooklyn Born Singer Giovanny Blanco of "The Holy Broken" will Join the Jam to Fight Hunger

Brewers & Blues Against Hunger is pleased to announce Giovanny Blanco, lead singer for The Holy Broken is joining the jam to fight hunger in Westlake Village and Ventura County. The Brooklyn born singer will be accompanied by all the members of The Holy Broken.

Brooklyn-born, and raised partially (the good part) in the Dominican Republic. Giovanny Blanco’s career in music and film began at the age of 10 when he made a Super 8 short film based on the 1980 film “The Idolmaker”. He was soon creating his own stories and shooting them using anything he could get his hands on, including Super 8 cameras, security cameras, and Fisher Price’s Pixelvision toy camera.

He went on to study Music Theory and Engineering, as well as Film Production at The New School in New York City, before heading west to California. Upon his arrival in Los Angeles, he discovered a burgeoning Latin Rock scene, and immediately joined a band that would eventually become the Latin Ska-Punk flavored Viva Malpache. After the release of their first CD, Giovanny started working behind the scenes on film and television projects, a path that eventually led to acting, as well as to writing and directing TV and music videos. He also found time to start another musical project, SHU-SHO, an electronic funk and Latin-flavored group.

About The Holy Broken

A four-piece Blues/Rock/Soul band from West San Fernando Valley, CA – The Holy Broken is a band built on unity, superb talent and genuine love & respect for the music they create and share with others. Starting out originally in pursuit of forming a band to play cover tunes, the five members quickly discovered their unique sound & connection to each other…that the bond between them and the music they were making was fast becoming something truly special and inspiring them to create songs of their own.

Influenced by the classic Blues style of BB King to the sheer Rock & Soul sounds of Jimi Hendrix – The Holy Broken are just as inspired by the recent electrifying sounds of The Black Keys, Jack White, Alabama Shakes & many more.

The Holy Broek is currently comprised of Scott Persico (Guitar), John Marossy (Bass), Kevin Fisher (Drums), and Giovanny Blanco (Vocals) – The Holy Broken is currently playing live shows throughout the city & beyond as they continue to define their sound and begin to write their own stunning new originals. With strong musicianship and talent coming from every corner of the band and a natural rhythm & groove that continues to get stronger over their time together; the invitational-sound, style, and music of The Holy Broken has a charismatic, gravitational pull that is able to bring people together for an incredible experience in all-out entertainment.

Set to release their debut material in late 2017 – these four amazing players have found a real home and vibe of their own…one that truly resonates within the people and brings out the real magic in music through their rockin’ style & relatable sound as The Holy Broken.
