Guitarist Arthur "Arturo" Cardenas was born in Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico on April 13, 1952. In 1973 he got into the University of Guadalajara Music School where he studied classical music, while at the same time he formed his first band "La Wells" and played rock and blues in local clubs and parties for three years, while also studying Industrial Engineering, and continued until he graduated as an engineer in 1978.

MAR 11: Arturo Esquivas Yee of RockCats will be Jammin' the Blues to Fight Hunger

Come one come all to La Palapa at El Dorado Ranch (San Felipe) on March 11, 2018 • Sunday, show starts at 1:00 PM. Arturo Esquivias Yee is joining the Blues & Jazz music series Blues Jam!

Arturo is one of San Felipe's most beloved guitarists and members of the community. He has been playing guitar in San Felipe with almost every musician you have seen perform a San Felipe stage. He has performed at numerous blues fests, shrimp fests, and event large and small and can be seen weekly at Jollymon and El Padrino Pizzeria playing classic rock with his bandmates.

FEB 10: Lifetime Singer Ian Thompson of Rock Cats Joining the Jam to Fight Hunger

Ian Thompson for years has been the guy to call for custom window blinds, electrical work, or just about any home improvement, and although that all may still be true. San Felipe hardest working man can now be seen taking time for himself and is singing regularly with San Felipe's Rock Cats every Friday and Saturday doing probably 18 -20 songs. For the Blues Against Hunger Ian is going to perform a couple of the most known and memorable blues tunes from decades past.

Ian grew up in Newcastle England in the age of Eric Burdon and Animals, Stones, The Who The Beatles, etc. He had been singing all his life since he started to walk. Ian sang Rock and Roll, Blues with a "Circus" in Edmonton Canada. Very proud to sing with The Rock Cats at every opportunity. Arturo, Jose, and Tavo of The Rock Cats are all great musicians.
