VOLUNTEER

We always need help. Volunteers (BAHS Squad) are the life's blood of Blues Against Hunger Society (BAHS). Volunteering for BAHS is very rewarding and is about giving back; whether you are sharing your skills and knowledge, looking for opportunities to learn new skills, or just want to get hands on, we have something for everyone to help support the BAHS mission.

Volunteer as a BAHS Jamboree Team member, Food Helper, Event Coordinator, and more!

The first step to be part of the BAHS Squad is make a donation and feed families. For only $2.00 dlls/month you can feed families all year. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, your HELP is needed more than ever. Every dollar raised gets food to the people in each of our communities we serve. Washboards and Tambourines - You Missed it!

Jambalaya, crawfish pie and chili gumbo!   It was as if we were all down on the Bayou!!!!!  Those Bayou Brothers took us  there on a joyous musical journey at Sunday’s Blues Against Hunger Society’s food drive Jamboree.  PHOTOS - See the show The dance floor was packed with every song, and we all got to join in the music-making with tambourines and a very popular washboard.   Special shoutout to the very best washboarder, Kit Kaplan.  She slayed.   Your generosity, once again, knows no bounds.  You brought 303 lbs. of beautiful food, and we will be purchasing fresh fruits, vegetables and chicken with the proceeds from our raffle and sales.   ❤️Raffle donors were: Lana Fauskin, Rachel Pack, Sixx Pack, Barbara Lincoln, Joyce Lawrence, John Larsen and Carlos Espina, who literally gave the shirt off his back to raffle.  You just never know what’s gonna happen!!!! Two Cities Two Local Newspaper Support

It's pretty exciting when you arrive in town and find you're on the cover of two regional newspapers. Thanks Baja News and Baja Times for supporting Blues Against Hunger...both events: The Lighthouse in La Mission and The Fiesta Hotel in Rosarito Beach. They Both were a great success and we raised a truck load of food between the two events. Thanks again to everyone that donated! Another really great BLUES AGAINST HUNGER JAMBOREE coming your way on Sunday, June 16, at Bobby's by the Sea K43 in Rosarito. The event will feature a performance by Tijuana rising stars the TREVOLTS. They are incredible and their music has elements of everything that evolved from blues; rock, country, pop, and blues.

Don’t want to wait until the Baja Blues Fest comes to town in August? To get your Blues to fix, just come to Bobby’s by the Sea any Sunday through July, 1:00 – 5:00 pm when they host Sweet Sixx and the Wild Pack Band “and friends” jams. Bobby’s is an excellent venue for these jams because the seating area is set to fit the weather and the crowd. Whether under an umbrella in the warm sun or grabbing a table in the palapa near the gas heater, there is ample room for a good size crowd and dancing.
