BAHS FOOD DRIVE CONCERTS

1. What is BAHS?
BAHS (Blues Against Hunger Society) is a music-driven nonprofit organization that hosts live concerts and food drives to fight hunger in the Baja California region. We combine the power of music with the compassion of community.

2. How does BAHS help the community?
We collect non-perishable food donations at every event and distribute them to local food banks, families in need, and community kitchens across Baja.

3. Where does the food go?
All food donations go directly to vetted local nonprofits, shelters, and community programs such as La Mision Children’s Fund, Feeding Rosarito, Hearts of Baja, and Helping Hands.

4. Do I have to donate food to attend a BAHS concert?
No, but we strongly encourage it! Most of our events are free or low-cost, and your food donation is your way of giving back while enjoying amazing live music.

5. Can I donate money instead of food?
Yes! Monetary donations help us cover costs like transportation, equipment, and food packaging, and can sometimes stretch further than food donations. You can donate securely on our website.

6. What kind of food should I donate?
We welcome all non-perishable items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, beans, powdered milk, peanut butter, and baby formula. Avoid expired or perishable items.

7. Can I volunteer with BAHS?
Absolutely! We’re always looking for volunteers to help with set-up, food collection, coordination, promotion, and more. Just reach out to us via our contact page.

Washboards and Tambourines - You Missed it!

Jambalaya, crawfish pie and chili gumbo!   It was as if we were all down on the Bayou!!!!!  Those Bayou Brothers took us  there on a joyous musical journey at Sunday’s Blues Against Hunger Society’s food drive Jamboree.  PHOTOS - See the show The dance floor was packed with every song, and we all got to join in the music-making with tambourines and a very popular washboard.   Special shoutout to the very best washboarder, Kit Kaplan.  She slayed.   Your generosity, once again, knows no bounds.  You brought 303 lbs. of beautiful food, and we will be purchasing fresh fruits, vegetables and chicken with the proceeds from our raffle and sales.   ❤️Raffle donors were: Lana Fauskin, Rachel Pack, Sixx Pack, Barbara Lincoln, Joyce Lawrence, John Larsen and Carlos Espina, who literally gave the shirt off his back to raffle.  You just never know what’s gonna happen!!!!
