Drummer Brayan Ortega of Rock Soul will be Joining the Jam to Fight Hunger

Image
Drummer Brayan Ortega will be joining the jam and fight against hunger one more time. This time at  La Palapa at El Dorado Ranch  (San Felipe) on April 29, 2018  • Sunday, the show starts at 1:00 PM.   Brayan is a drummer that sort of fell into it. He has only been playing drums for a year and learned by jumping into the fire. Brayan said his band Rock Soul asked him if he wanted to play, and he said "I didn't know how to play", but then they told him "he didn't have to know how to play" and with that Brayan said "yes" and became a drummer.   When it comes to the music he most loves to play, Brayan says "definitely blues, I really love it, there's nothing better than to play a blues song".  He says "the feeling that blues gives me is indescribable, I can't explain the feeling if you don't listen and feel a blues song yourself."

The show starts at 1:00 PM and  Arturo Esquivias Yee is joining the Blues & Jazz music series Blues Jam! Arturo is one of San Felipe's most beloved guitarists and members of the community. He has been playing guitar in San Felipe with almost every musician you have seen perform a San Felipe stage. He has performed at numerous blues fests, shrimp fests, and event large and small and can be seen weekly at Jollymon and El Padrino Pizzeria playing classic rock with his bandmates.

Drummer Ken Pottie is Bringing his Passion to the Fight Against Hunger

Image
Come to support Ken and Blues Against Hunger on April 29, 2018, starting at 1PM - 4PM at The Palapa Bar & Grill, El Dorado Ranch, San Felipe Baja.  Be sure to bring a non-perishable, non-expired food donation. Ken will be sharing her passion for his music and helping the community. Let's help Ken and the rest of the musicians raise as much food as possible! Ken has been a musician for over 40 years, both on the drums and the guitar, however as he has honed his skill on the skins if you were to ask him about his guitar playing he says "and I still suck". However, when it comes to the drums, Ken is at home with any style, but especially loves anything you can dance to including rock, swing, r&b, reggae, country and of course the blues. "I like the Blues. It is the root of many styles", says Ken.
