Blues Against Hunger Society have so many to thank for making the first quarter of the year incredible! Because of the love of so many San Felipians and the hard work of the San Felipe BAHS board 5257 lbs (2386 kilos) of non-perishable food and enough money raised to sustain nutritional contributions along with fresh chicken and vegetables throughout the summer “off” season. A very big MUCHAS GRACIAS San Felipe, Charlie and Karen Martin, Richard and Joyce Lawrence, Dick Cadgar and some incredible people volunteering like Kathy Thompson, Diane Mihalak Hague, Linda Wilson, Gene Dee and others. The hospitality and service of San Felipe Brewing encourage fans to continue to return week after week, some enduring cold winds to hear the music and contribute to the cause, we love you. Blues Against Hunger Society (BAHS) wishes to thank Charlie and Karen Martin. Their time on the Blues Against Hunger Board has come to a close, and we want to express our sincere gratitude for 4 years of service. Board service is the toughest volunteer role, and the two of you took on the Board duties of Director and Fundraising chair with dedication, grace, and seriousness; and during two very tough, tumultuous times. Thank you both for the huge accomplishments and the laughter of those years. More than 60 Jamborees, the Baja Blues Tour and ending the tenure exceeding the 3-month goal of 5000 pounds (2268 kilos) of food raised. More than your amazing ability to achieve the BAHS mission and goals, the Jamborees, or creative fundraising, but your willingness to go the extra mile with your great board and volunteers; warehousing food, sorting food, and even distributing the food.
