CHICKENBONE SLIM of San Diego, California has been playing blues for over 25 years. Chickenbone plays a primitive, tough,  bare-knuckle  electric blues, born in the middle of the last century. With a talented band known as “The Biscuits” made up of top blues musicians, Chickenbone is able to explore and take risks with his original material and interpretation of traditional blues. He  has been nominated for Best Blues album in 2016 for “Gone” and 2018 for “The Big Beat” for the San Diego Music Awards. “The Big Beat” was released on September 15,  2017,  and reach #16 on the Living Blues Album Charts by  October  2017.

On April 12, Easter Sunday, the Blues Against Hunger Society is going to produce a live streaming blues music telethon to support our mission to fight hunger with the blues. Our mission and organization's purpose has been threatened by the COVID-19 virus, and in addition to putting our health at risk, it has devastated our livelihoods. No venues, no gatherings, social distancing...no live music. Our goal at Easter is to bring all our friends, and family in the blues together to celebrate the music and the artists. A public discussion of the blues, live music of now and the past, along with an open discussion on our current condition.  The event with be broadcast across YouTube and Facebook live and will feature interactive chats, remote live guests, live performances and more. Unfortunately, in the current Pandemic conditions globally, all opportunities to gather together to celebrate blues have ceased. We can not continue our mission without blues. For this reason, we ask you to join us on Easter Sunday, April 12 from 10AM to 6PM as we gather together LIVE online from the comfort of our homes to celebrate the blues and continue to fight to end hunger. Attention all BAHS Members and Fans!  At this time, all Blues Against Hunger Society Chapter Jamborees and tours will be postponed for at least the next 30 days because of the  impact of COVID-19  on our communities far and wide. We have a responsibility to our supporters,  members, and  partners -  those we support.  For this reason, we will not be sad or scared, we will use this as an opportunity to prepare for the amazing things BAHS has planned.  We hope you are safe and healthy.
