FEB 10: Bassist and Bluesman Rick Rudd will Join the Jam to Fight Hunger

Image
Rick or Ricky as some friends may know him is a bluesman from way back, beginning seriously back in the early 80's and his passion has always been the blues. When asked why he plays the blues he answered: "because it is the cosmic dance". The part of playing music Rick love most is communicating a feeling to the audience and having them respond. Over the years Rick has many opportunities to connect with the audience, starting with Fat Chance for 20 years in Reno and Vatos Locos here in Baja for 10 years. He wanted to bring the blues to Baja and now wants to continue turning more people onto the Blues. It is his one and only true passion musically! Rick's bands have played every charity event that either of his bands was asked to play. In Reno and in Baja they have been involved in almost 100% of charity gigs for the community. He is aware that there is hunger everywhere and he has always done what he can do to help. It always warms my heart to be able to shar...

FEB 10: Tavo Garcia of RockCats will be Joining the Jam to Fight Hunger in San Felipe

Cesar Octavio Garcia Perez, or as most of us know him "Tavo" got a late start playing the drums only picking up the sticks when he was 30 something and says "I was a closet drummer all my life". "I really enjoyed hard rock and definitely I like the blues, a lot!" Says Tavo, "I play music because I love it, and the idea of sharing my passion, it's very cool". He continues, "In fact, I love the blues, I think we are the blackest Mexicans you know, and I only played with local bands, so I am internationally unknown". When I asked Tavo about hunger he said: "There is hunger all over the world, even in first world countries". And he is right, and with Tavo's help and the help of other blues musicians and fans, we can make a difference - because music and meals can heal.

For the Blues Against Hunger Ian is going to perform a couple of the most known and memorable blues tunes from decades past. Ian grew up in Newcastle England in the age of Eric Burdon and Animals, Stones, The Who The Beatles, etc. He had been singing all his life since he started to walk. Ian sang Rock and Roll, Blues with a "Circus" in Edmonton Canada. Very proud to sing with The Rock Cats at every opportunity. Arturo, Jose, and Tavo of The Rock Cats are all great musicians.
