YEAR-END: Blues Against Hunger Society (BAHS) 2020

When 2020 started Blues Against Hunger Society (BAHS) were breaking new ground, new chapters and feeding more! Then the world was hit with the Covid-19 pandemic and the live music events stopped and with it everything BAHS did to raise food for hungry families. However, with the quick action of all the board members, the BAHS members and friends we rallied and exceeded the 26,574 pounds of food raised in 2019. THANK YOU, you all raised a total of 35,917 pound of food in 2020, that’s 9343 pounds more. You have kept families feed during this tough time in history.

Without live music jamborees the BAHS memberships have decreased significantly with zero growth in 2020. Fortunately donations and raffles were able to sustain our food contributions to San Felipe, Rosarito, La Mision, Mexico City, and Las Vegas NV throughout 2020. 

Moving forward into this new year, 2021, we have more families in need. BAHS wants to maintain the sustainable amounts of food and support to our communities. We believe the solution to this problem is to eliminate membership dues and requests regular donations. Everyone that makes a donation of any size to BAHS, becomes a member of the BAHS Squad. We encourage recurring donations as small as $2 dlls/month. Because $2 dlls does make a difference buying about 3 pounds of food each month = 2.5 meals each month.

Additionally, we will continue to promote celebrity instrument raffles; like the current raffle a guitar signed by Joe Bonamassa. Get you tickets today! Also BAHS is opening an online store with instruments, merchandise, and more for you to help support BAHS's mission.

In Summary in 2021 BAHS will focus on the following areas:

• Continue to support of our communities - work to sustain and increase BAHS support.  

• Extend our reach and messages through other media, news, video, and print.

• Extend our reach through the fans of celebrity signature instruments. 

• Encourage all existing members to make a donation to feed hungry families struggling to get food on the table.

• Encourage blues fans and anyone to have a BAHS party and raise food for your community.

• Keep our members/donors informed with BAHS programs and our mission though the BAHS Feedback eMagazine.

• Place the BAHS Blues Food Donation Barrels in communities that need of support,
